This is going to be one of the most non icanhasgrace posts to date because it goes against pretty much everything this blog is supposed to be about. I’m going to post it anyway.
If I had money I would:
- Replace the carpet throughout the house with hardwood and ceramic tile
- Redo the bedroom with matching furniture instead of the make-do stuff that’s in there now and especially include a headboard. (I’ve never had a headboard.)
- Have my yard professionally landscaped with perennial gardens correctly installed with soil, irrigation, plants, and mulch. I am perfectly willing to maintain it if I could start fresh.
- Eat out once a week with the entire family and not feel guilty about it.
- Take the family on more trips.
- Get a popup camper and a trailer hitch.
- Buy each of my kids a car.
What would you do if you had the money to do it? Go ahead, make me feel bad and share your altruistic dreams and selfless wishes. I can take it.
travel! go to italy, and greece, and cyprus. go to england, germany and france. go to australia and tonga.
I keep hearing that experiences bring us more happiness, rather than possessions. You may be on the right track, Mary Beth.
–Buy a reliable car that doesn’t have dents all over it.
–Hire someone to clean my house once a week.
–Put that addition that I’ve been dreaming about on my house.
–Repave my driveway.
They seem like such simple wishes, don’t they?
Finish buying the knives that go to my great-grandmother’s silver.
A new lawn tractor – or better yet, hire somebody to do the yard and not feel guilty.
Hardwood floors/new carpet for the bedrooms.
Driveway graded, chirt foundation(rhymes with shirt) then whiterock. (Can’t EVEN dream concrete!
Money to buy the 2, no 3 rock houses for the church since they won’t.
Take the grandchildren to the Grand Canyon.
That’ll do.
Thanks for the outlet.
Should I start “Saturday’s Shot of Material Wishes?”
provide college funds for neice and nephew, pay off all debt, get a new car (mine is 10yrs old), buy a house (never owned a house), pay off all debt at church
If I had SOME money I would pay off our credit card and truck.
If I had a BUNCH of money, I would pay cash for a new house, save for college, go to seminary, and start the Campbell Foundation, which would provide grants for community and church projects.
oh, and buy a camp to run for retreats and churches.
