   A recall the funeral oration of a priest who was known to be implacable to rules:
   “Brother X knew better than anyone the letter of the law, but there is another – the spirit of the law. Whenever these two forces move in conflict, there is only one means to maneuver them: human compassion.”

      I LOVE that. Thank you for sharing it. If only I could make compassion the default and work through the conflict more quickly, rather than bang my head against it as I tend to do. Proactive compassion! That’s what I want.
