(and you can too)

I have wise friends. Many of you said I had nothing to worry about and we’d have a great time. You were right. Even though it rained most of the weekend, we had a blast. We enjoyed the weekend enough to reserve a site for the Fourth and for Labor Day weekend.

I’m going to encourage the kids to say what they liked about the weekend, but here’s my take:

Sunset on the Cumberland River

The View. Having never been to this campground, I wondered what it might look like. I thought it was breathtaking.

I liked playing cards. We, as a family, hardily ever get to do stuff like that in our technology overun, day-to-day lives.

I will never get … I’ve blocked out the the name of that card game you tried to teach me. Before we go next time we need to take a book of card games.

It really was a fun trip. I most enjoyed the sitting and reading and the overall “nothingness” that came with the lake and the fact that I was tired of playing cards and Mastermind with Ben.

Breakfast was always my favorite campout meal. My dad always made this fried potato-onion-scrambled-eggs-all-mixed-up-together dish. Sounds gross, but it was fabulous!
I’m glad you guys had such a wonderful time.
