(and you can too)

I recently attended a seminar on social networking. It’s what inspired me to start this blog. I’ve enjoyed the blog, but one thing I still don’t understand from that seminar is Twitter.

The presenters encouraged us to use Twitter for a month so we could understand its function. I’ve done that but I still don’t get it. I find it boring. Someone at work described its purpose this way, “Twitter is the new CB radio except it’s got Ashton Kutcher instead of Burt Reynolds.”

Maybe I’m not being aggressive enough in choosing whom I follow. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to make twitter more interesting?

To enjoy Twitter you have to be interested in Pop Culture or find someone you are really interested in following. I follow Jane Fonda and a few others. I have several cousins on Twitter and other family members. We can keep up with everyone at a moments notice. I don’t tweet often but I do tweet occasionally.

I am also struggling with Twitter. I got on it to see what the fuss was all about. It is entertaining to see what Paula Abdul does, Miley Cirus for my son’s sake, lady gaga and a few others. It is kind of neat if they are actually the ones putting in the statements. But I like facebook much better. But I’ll visit my Twitter from time to time. 🙂

The only way I’ve managed to stay with twitter is by using tweetdeck. It combines twitter and facbook status updates to both view your friends and post yours. Even so, twitter ain’t cutting it for me.
