Thanks for answering my question about a touchstone in your life. (And it’s OK that you referred to me as “Mary” in the Commute Cam… lol. I’ve been called far worse things! Or maybe Mary offered up the very same question:)
By the way, I loved your answer about the clock. Hope you and Ruth were able to resolve the morning conflict. She knows she’s got a Dad who really loves her. Peace back at ya!

Yikes! Of course that question was from you, Missy. Sorry I mis-named you!
I thought about the questions off and on all weekend. It wasn’t until I wound the clock this morning that I thought, “This is a touchstone in my life.”
I hope to remember to take a picture of it when I get home. If I do, I’ll post it : )
Ruth and I will be ok. I think we fight because we’re so much alike. Too many changes in our home right now! Breathe……….

As time goes by, I think you’ll see other touchstones in your life, too. I have an old glass-front cabinet where I keep many of my own.
An old manicure set, made like an owl, that my grandparents let me play with as a young tyke whenever I would visit their church (only got to play with it during the sermon).
A glass paperweight with the two hymns my Dad wanted sung at his funeral, written in his own handwriting.
My mother’s sheet music from her days as a church organist. Lots of things that point us back to our faith heritage and what we value most in life— relationships.
