Excellent series. It shows you are following through with your Lenten practrice even if things don’t always go as planned. If anyone asks me about Lenten practices I may direct them to icanhasgrace commute cam. I don’t recall if you have ever talked about Sabbath but since being intentional about Sabbath time on Fridays I have experienced a lot of grace. Peace.

Accountability is a main factor in my observance of Lent. I have chosen to abstain from alcohol during these 40 days, and I have made a point of telling several people — at random really — in my church community. When it gets to be 5:00 I can remind myself how I would feel if any of those people ask me how it’s going!
Setting a goal is also helpful. I estimated how much money I would spend on wine in 40 days and chose how that money would be used. We have a church initiative to support J-FON and a Heifer project as well. It is humbling to know that my efforts will help these funds to grow.
Accounting and goal-setting: still not easy, but so helpful!LikeLike
