Momma Turkey and her six chicks came for a visit this morning. Who knew they were into performance art? I cracked up when they walked into the garden and posed with the metal chicken.
I thought they’d left via the side yard, but as I was editing the first picture, I looked up and there was Momma Turkey right in front of me. She was going for the corn in the ground feeder. That’s my big toe in the lower right corner; that’s how close she was!
Then came the battle at the manger. Momma Turkey watched while her chicks hopped into the feeder as the deer came up from behind. Unintimidated, the chicks ate their fill as the deer impatiently waited.
Fabulous!!!
