The Southern Festival of Books

I met Mom at Legislative Plaza a couple of weeks ago during the Southern Festival of Books. She was there at her publisher’s booth. We ate lunch from Bolton’s food truck, which serves up some seriously delicious hot chicken and catfish. Delicious!

I like to park in the public library garage when I visit downtown Nashville. It’s only $4 for all day parking. When I pulled up to the entrance, there were signs out front indicating that the lot was full. But the lot wasn’t full for me.

This handy app I installed on my phone told me that the public library lot has four charging spaces for electronic cars. I drove into the garage and easily found them empty. I plugged up the car and walked to the venue feeling smart.

It was awesome spending time with Mom in that setting. I can’t remember what we talked about as we walked around, but I do remember feeling love and admiration for my amazing mother.

You can get a copy of The Settling Place on Amazon in both hard and paperback.
